July 2003-Dominick (26mos) Loves to pray - sometimes reminding me - telling me "Let's pray!" And he says "Amen" at the end of everything (i.e. "A, B, C....X, Y, Z, Amen", when he counts to 10 and even when I finish talking to him about something important!)
April 2004-(some words left out for reader's sake and some not important)...the week before Easter...at our purpose driven life small group April 4th, I realized [there was a spiritual battle] for him, since I had been trying to teach him about Easter and he was getting close to believing and accepting Jesus, [While Auntie Resh sang the song Redeemer] all I could do was pray!...He sure understood...anytime he saw a cross he said "Jesus died on the cross."...He was so excited for Easter Sunday and still (this week-May 16th) asks if it is Easter Sunday on the way to church! April 19th he finally got past "Jesus died on the cross" - we were in his room and all of a sudden he said "When Jesus died on the cross him rose from the dead and Him is alive!" A couple weeks later, first week of May, he wanted to nap in his room in his own bed (doesn't happen very often) and listen to his heartbeat music (his bedtime music since birth). I left and came back to check on him and he was singing along with the first song "come into my heart, Lord Jesus..." He looked embarrassed [to see me] so I left....I know there is still a lot of growth and maturing he needs in order to commit his life fully to Jesus...I will just keep praying! 1 Samuel 1:27-28
August 10, 2004-As we walked to Great-Grandma and Grandpa Johnson's house a few cars passed by us. Dominick said, "look out for the cars mommy! I'm scared of cars." I told him I'm not scared because Jesus is with me and will protect me. He replied, "Jesus is in my heart too but I'm still scared of monsters." I said there is no such thing as monsters and he said "Then I don't need to be scared of monsters, but I'm still scared of cars." ;-)
