Today was Dom & Bri's first day of swim lessons. Bri was terrified of doing swim lessons because she doesn't want to put her face under water.
But first, shots.
Bri's 5 year check-up was scheduled for last Monday but they had to move it last minute to...right before her first swim lesson today.
On a positive note, she is 10th percentile for weight and 50th for height!
She needed 4 shots for Kindergarten (actually, 3 were needed, the 2nd chicken pox is only recommended now but will probably become required so it's best to get it over with now, right?)
When she found out she was getting shots (I wait until the Dr. leaves to go get the needles) and then Dom spilled the beans that swim lessons were next, she looked at me with a sad face and said, "I'm going to have a really bad day today, mommy."
The shots hurt and she cried a long time afterwards but there wasn't as much screaming and wrestling with her arms and legs to pin her down (which makes me feel like a terrible mom).
And swim lessons were not so bad, either!
Bri is in level A with a young girl instructor (perfect). She shivered the whole time in the water and when the other kids put their faces under the water she shook her head no.
Dom is in level B with a "cool" boy instructor (perfect), but 5 other girls in the class (so glad that he is not at the age to think that is perfect too!) He was under the water most of the time. He is turning into a fish!
I forgot my camera today, hopefully pictures next post.
Lastly, we went to a meeting for Dom's baseball, which starts Wednesday with practices to be, go figure, Mondays and Wednesdays (we will have 30 minutes to eat in between swim lessons and baseball)
Bring on Springtime.
