Countdown to Vacation...

Wednesday I got to go on a field trip with Dominick's class to The Old McDonald's Farm, way out in Corbett. It was fun and very educational. I had some great conversations with the 1st graders in my group and I bought some fresh chicken, duck and even a goose egg!
Thursday was a blah day. One of those days you feel like you got nothing done, although I accomplished a lot of errands, planted some flowers with Brianna, did 3 hours of work, another load of laundry (ya, it didn't last long) made beer-bottom chicken (sorry, this is the nicest way to say it) and did some push-ups (most exercise I've done in a year).

Friday will be a crazy, busy day. Auntie Beth is watching Bri & Isaac in the morning so I can go into work for a few hours, drop off and pick up the boys from school (Dom's last day of 1st grade!), start a dinner for a good friend, drive Beth to the airport (she and my parents are flying to Arizona before us-those lucky bums), bring dinner to my good friends, Misty and Ben Schneider, finally get to hold their brand new baby girl, Maggie, who was born May 23rd, pick up our wonderful babysitter, Melissa, go to our last dinner out with Markus, and if I still have energy I might start putting the clothes away, packing, cleaning, and maybe a little work. But I could always save that stuff for Saturday. I'm really good at procrastinating.

Saturday, Dominick has a make-up baseball game at 5pm at the Elementary school. And we're making ribs for dinner, hopefully with company.

We leave early Sunday morning for sunny Arizona!!!

Markus' parents will arrive on Wednesday and we are delighted they get to stay at our house. Tyler will return Thursday to go to Gladstone's graduation and hang out with our new friends from Germany.
Richard & Sibylle: I look forward to meeting you Sunday when I return before your flight, and I am especially looking forward to visiting you in Germany next year! Please, be yourself at home in our home and have a wonderful time in Portland! We have truly enjoyed your son. He's just dandy! ;-)
