A Teacher and A Mom

One of my sweet preschoolers told me, "You are a teacher and a mom!"
Every mom is a teacher, we are our kids' first and most important teacher, but we're not always accredited as their teacher. For instance, my kids always get frustrated when I try to help them learn new things, they don't want me to "teach" them.
I truly admire the teachers who taught and are currently teaching my kids: teacher Debbie, Mrs. B, Ms. Taylor & Mrs. Baldwin.
Now that I am a teacher of other mom's kids I truly understand why we do what we do. It's not for money, as you know teachers are paid so much less than they deserve, but for the JOY kids give us!

3-5 year olds are my favorite people.
They don't judge me. Matthew 7:1-2.
They love unconditionally. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7.
If I can't give them my full attention, they wait, and when they see I am available they run to me with a smile on their face and open arms. Ephesians 4:32.
They share and take turns. 1 John 3:18.
They use kind words like Please, Thank you and Sorry. Luke 6:31.
They work together to get a project done and help someone who needs a little extra help. Philippians 2:4.
They do not work for money, but for the satisfaction of a job well done. Hebrews 13:5.
They trust there will always be a snack; they do not worry. Matthew 6:25.
They love to learn new things, sing their hearts out, dance with joy and live life to the fullest every day. Philippians 4:8-9.
They just need lots of love, encouragement, patience and simple activities to help them grow and learn life's most important lessons. My boss calls me the "can do girl" Philippians 4:13. I never thought I could be a teacher but it brings me joy to see God's purpose for each of these blessed children that come to Sonshine Preschool.
