Thanksgiving in Brookings

We had a GREAT trip to Brookings, OR for Thanksgiving holiday!
Wednesday, November 26th, we left home at 4pm. 7 people squished in our 7-seater SUV like sardines for a 7 hour drive. After sitting in traffic for an hour, the kids fell asleep, then it was a quiet drive. Quiet because the big kids, Hector and Sandra, TEXTED Tyler "when will we be there" for the first 3 hours! lol :-) It was a lot of fun texting each other during the drive. haha!
Thursday, November 27th, Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Birthday Grandpa! We enjoyed a delicious Thanksgiving feast. Thank you Grammy Pam! Then we all took naps and played games!Friday, November 28th, we drove 20 minutes South to Crescent City, CA. To go Crabbing!
It was a sunny day on the Pier. We caught 2 Dungeness and 2 Red Rock crabs.Saturday, November 29th, we walked through a Redwood Tree Forest. The Redwood trees are so big! They are 6-people-arm-width-wide!Sunday, November 30th, was a warm day. 75 degrees! I walked with the kids to the beach: Hector, Sandra, Wang (Pam's exchange student from Taiwan), Dominick and Brianna. The waves were the biggest I've ever seen and the tide was the highest I've ever seen.Brianna and Dominick got wiped out by the strong, fast tide that took us all by surprise. Sandra and Hector tried to swim to a rock that waves were crashing over, but the ocean was too strong. We all walked back to the house soaked head to toe in wet, sandy clothes. It was so much fun!!!
Later Pam took us for a drive in her VW Thing to the Harbor. It was a perfect last day!
Monday, December 1st, we drove home. :-(
