Day 5

The day ended with a nice visit at Sandra's mom's home. Unfortunately my camera battery was dead by this time, but her mom's fiance took a few pictures of us visiting with her mom, Anette, and sister, Helena: The day started with a walk to a small church near Sandra's dad's home with Morten and their dog Cindy: It was a big sight-seeing day. Morten and Bettina took us to Odense, which is Denmark's third largest city, located on the island of Funen. To get there we drove across the (2nd) largest bridge in the world. 21 km (13.048795037 miles). and the toll is a lot!Odense is the town Hans Christian Andersen was born. We visited his museum:Houses use to be a lot smaller, or people use to be a lot shorter! We walked around the town of Odense, looked at the Protestant, Catholic and Baptist churches:
Tyler was amazed by the metal work that was done over 1000 years ago and the fact that we were walking on stone floors that are older than our Country! I walked inside the crypt (tomb) of King Knud, who was murdered in 1086. Then we drove to the romantic and peaceful island Taasinge south of Funen island and visited Valdemars Slot (Valdemars Castle), built by King Christian IV (1588-1648) between 1639 and 1644:
