Before kids, I used to wake up at 5am to go for a 45 minute run outside every day before school (started running in 8th grade) and work (after I got married). On the weekend I went for a 10 mile run, about 1 1/2 hours. After kids, I got very little sleep and the kids needed me 24-7 so it was hard finding a time I could run outside (I LOVE running outside and breathing in fresh air and talking with God and enjoying the beautiful scenery He created!)
For the running contest, we are all using the treadmill. It's probably better for my knee, anyways, than the hard bumpy ground. But I look forward to running outside again and feeling free...
