Day 1

Our Eurotrip was sooooo fun, packed full of sight-seeing and visiting, I didn't have time to blog about it while we were there. Didn't have time when I got home either; 3 kids, summer-time, daily responsibilities...and you know me, with all my pictures and needing to put it in chronological order...ahaha! so here goes...

Tyler and I have been planning and saving $ to go to Germany since he got home from World Cup, 2006. Our families both have German background and his mom, daughter of an Army Major, lived in Germany when she was a kid. After hosting Sandra this last year, we also made plans to visit Denmark, so our trip turned into a 2 week adventure! We left Dominick and Brianna with Gramma and Grampa "in the woods" since they had summer camp there, at Eagle Fern Camp, and Isaac went to Grammy and Gramps' at the beach, after they dropped us off at the airport at 8am, Wednesday morning... We arrived in Munich, Germany the next morning, Thursday at 10am, after flying (and sleeping) for 13 hours. They are 9 hours ahead of our time here.

Day 2

Markus' mom and dad gave us a herzlich willkommen (warm welcome) at the airport! :) and drove us to their flat. It was like arriving at a fancy resort, with our favorite chocolate on our pillows!

We crammed our 3 big suitcases into Markus' little room, ate some home-cooked German lunch, met Markus' girlfriend, and got ready to see all of Munich in one day ;) Richard went back to work so we went with Sibylle and Markus, Markus drove :O seatbelts on!
first to Markus' school, which he was skipping today, then to a nearby See (lake), the tennis club, the sports club, soccer field, then downtown Munich. Tyler was impressed with his parallel parking! Heimstetten is sort of the town they live in, and we always drove by the brand-new XXXLutz on the way home. ahhhh, sweet Makus!! It was so wonderful to see you again! :) We love, love, love you!!!

Munich is the capital city of Bavaria, Germany and has about 1.36 million people. The city's motto is "München mag Dich" (Munich Loves You). Monks of the Benedictine order founded the city.
It is BIG, it is Beautiful and it is Bavarian! Yeah! Street cafes, pretzels, beer gardens, good beer and sausages! (the boys needed to stop and rest...haha)

and of course, lots of BIG, OLD buildings and Churches
The Churches really do take your breath away when you walk inside.
